Very friendly pub. A group of us went this evening (6) and had different items from the menu. Choices rang d from pork loin, sirloin steak and an ale pie. All exceptionally cooked, great flavours and great service. Would highly recommend.
The food is decent and the staff seem reasonably good, but the new decor is hideous. What is it that is so appealing about those garish imitation filament light bulbs and grey paint in every pub?The place used to be painted white. Now it sticks out awfully. Perhaps this is to attract more customers to the excellent new menu on offer since reopening. I will return to this pub and sample more of the menu. Though I may have to wear dark glasses at the bar. Most conveniently located next to the canal and some of the greatest fields in west Lancashire. Ideal for lunch followed by daisy picking and a spot of dowsing.
